Cyprus Dessert

For the Cyprus dessert recipe, we can say that it is a creamy, two-layered dessert you prepare on a cake with walnuts and grated coconut. We can think of it as a different version of the creamy bread kadayıf or revani . The features of this delicious dessert, also known as Greek dessert, are not limited to this. Breadcrumbs or semolina is used instead of flour in the dough. Grated coconut also adds texture and flavor. Optionally, even poppy is added to the dough. The sweet is hot, the sherbet is cold, the cream with the addition of powdered whipped cream on it leaves a distinct flavor on the palate.

How to make

To make a Cypriot dessert, first, make the sherbet because the sherbet will be poured cold on the cake. Pour water and sugar in a pan. After it starts to boil, reduce the gold and boil for another 15 minutes.
When the sherbet is ready, turn off the heat, add the vanilla and let it cool.
For the cake; Whisk the eggs and sugar well. Add the other ingredients and mix.
Pour it into an oiled tray (I used large square boron).
Bake at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.
As soon as you get out of the oven, pour the cold syrup on it and let it cool.
For the cream; Cook the ingredients except for the whipped cream in a saucepan until it reaches the consistency of pudding.
Cover the bottom, add the powdered whipped cream and whisk with a blender for 5 minutes.
Pour this creamy custard over the cooled syrup cake.
Sprinkle plenty of coconut (I sprinkled walnuts) on it.
Leave the Cypriot dessert in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours and serve.
