Ezogelin Soup

If we had concerns like being able to describe the world through food, it would never be difficult for our land. Every culture starts telling itself at its table; we start and finish at the table. The stories of our meals tell us like our tables. A recipe hides the character of that region in its lines.

Zöhre Kız was born in 1909 in the village of Uruş in the town of Oğuzeli in Gaziantep. Later, when the whole village became famous for its beauty, it was called Ezo, meaning "Beautiful". They add "Ezo Gelin" after they come to the age of marriage and fall in love and after they get married. And they unwittingly give the name of the soup that we all hug for healing and warms the stomach before a delicious kebab.

The story of Ezogelin soup is the same as you feel when you smell the soup. Anatolia from head to toe.

Ezo Gelin marries the man she loves. The story starts off lucky actually. He is very happy. For Ezo, life is as beautiful as possible, he has a happy life next to the man he loves. But as with all immortal stories, this happiness doesn't last. Disruptors, gossipers, those with an eye on this happiness spoil this marriage. Ezo Gelin also has to leave because of her love. It is only Ezo now.
